Clevan "Tank" Williams is in his second season back on The Farm as a Defensive Quality Control Analyst.
The former Cardinal safety was instrumental in Stanford's success around the turn of the century. Williams played for the Cardinal from 1998-2001, earning First Team All-America honors as a senior. That year, he led Stanford with five interceptions and recovered a fumble for a touchdown. His nine interceptions during his career are tied for the tenth-most all-time in Stanford history.
Williams saw playing time in two bowl games, including the 2000 Rose Bowl Game against Wisconsin. In 2001, with Williams roaming the secondary, Stanford went 9-3, the most wins by a Stanford team since 1992 and just the second time since 1978 that the Cardinal had won at least nine games in a season. The 2001 Cardinal appeared in the Seattle Bowl against Georgia Tech.
Williams was selected 45th overall (2nd Round) by the Tennessee Titans in the 2002 NFL Draft and played four seasons with the Titans before finishing his career with the Minnesota Vikings in 2007. Williams finished fourth in the AP Defensive Rookie of the Year voting in 2002 after starting all 16 games for the Titans, defending six passes, totalling two sacks, and intercepting a pass.
In his NFL career, Williams appeared in 70 games and made 59 starts, piling up five interceptions and 283 total tackles.
