National Competition: Swam at the U.S. Nationals at Stanford in 2011, finishing sixth in the 4x100 medley relay, leading off for the Stanford B team... swam at the Los Angeles Open where he was ninth to win the B Finals of the 100 back (57.72)... swam in the 2007 Junior Nationals in the 100 back, where he was 18th.

2011-12 (Junior): Earn two All-America honors at NCAAs, helping the Cardinal finish fifth in the 200 free relay and fifth in the 400 free relay, both times swimming the third leg... also swam in the 100 free (29th) and 200 free (37th)... at Pac-12's finished seventh in the 100 free (43.83) and seventh in the 200 free (1:36.23)... also a part of the winning 200 free relay team, swimming the anchor leg... during the regular season was second in the 50 free in a dual with Hawaii and Pacific... also a part of the winning 400 free relay team against Cal... won the consolation finals of the 100 free at the Arena Invite in the fall with a time of 44.91 and the 200 free (1:38.97)... second team academic all-Pac-12.

2010-11 Season (Sophomore): Finished tenth in the 200 back with a career-best of 1:44.85 and also reached the B Finals of the 50 free, finishing 14th (20.05). Also 14th in the 100 back (48.25) for the Pac-10 champions... second place finish against CS Bakersfield during the dual season and third in the 200 back against Pacific... also had a fourth place finish in the 200 back during the fall at the Pacific Invite... also second in the 100 back at the Long Beach Arena Invite... Academic All-Pac-10.

2009-2010 Season (Freshman): Was part of the first-place 200 freestyle relay against USC...placed fourth in the 100 and 50 freestyle against USC...placed fourth in the 100 backstroke at the Toshiba Classic... best times of the season in the 50 fre (20.26) and 100 free (44.67) came at Pac-10s.

High School: Part of the nation's top recruiting class, posting four times in the top-16 in both backstrokes as well as the 100 and 200 freestyles... lettered four years in swimming at Pasadena Poly HS, setting the school record in the 50, 100, 200 and 500 freestyles, as well as the 100 backstroke, 200 IM, and 200 medley and 400 free relays... was a 20-time prep All-American... was also a three-time league MVP in 2007, 2008 and 2009... was the 2009 CIF champion and state record holder in the 200 free and 200 medley relay, a two-time record holder in the 100 backstroke and three-time CIF champion in the 100 back... was also a two-time set the league record in10 events, including the 100 backstroke, 50, 100, 200 and 500 frees, 100 fly, 200 IM and 200 medley, 200 free and 400 free relays... named the 2009 Pasadena Star Male Swimmer of the Year... also was a 2008 Olympics Trials qualifier, 2007 Senior Championship and 2007 Junior Championship participant.

Personal: Majoring in science technology and society... parents are David and Leslie... has two younger brothers, Matt and Michael.... father, David, was a setter for Stanford volleyball in the late 1970s.
