Joe Brinkman enters the 2017-18 season in his second year with the program after being named volunteer assistant prior to the 2016-17 campaign.
In his first season on The Farm, Brinkman helped Stanford win its second consecutive Pac-12 championship and 64th overall. The Cardinal went on to finish fifth at the NCAA championships, its highest finish since 2012.
Joe is also in his third year as the assistant coach for the National Group at PASA-Cardinal. PASA is recognized as a USA Swimming Gold Medal Club and ranks as the top club team in Northern California.
Collegiately, Brinkman swam four seasons at the University of the Cumberlands. A two-year captain, & former school record holder, Brinkman graduated with a bachelor of science degree in business administration. He was also a two-time NAIA Champion of Character nominee and the Mid-South Conference Champion of Character Award recipient.
Brinkman comes from a family of swimmers – brother, Colin swims at the University of Wyoming, older sister Annemarie swam for Hillsdale College, while younger sister Clare swims competitively for her club team & runs cross country for St. Catherine of Siena Academy in Michigan.
