Sammy Steele Season 2015-16

As a Senior (2015-16)

• ICSA All-America crew. 
• Named to the ICSA All-Academic Team. 
• Recipient of the "Block S" award for highest GPA in the department (mathematics). 
• Finished second at the PCCSC Match Race Championship with Luke Muller and Daniel Ron (Nov. 1).
• Won Stanford’s 11th consecutive Big Sail with Antoine Screve, Axel Sly, J.P. Cannistraro, Noelle Herring and Yuki Yoshiyasu (Nov. 17).
• Served as crew at the Bob Bavier Team Race, helping the Cardinal to a third place finish and a 15-9 record (Mar 5-6).
• Served as crew at the Graham Hall Team Race, helping the Cardinal to a third place finish and a 14-6 record (Mar 19-20).
• Served as crew at the Friis Trophy Team Race, helping the Cardinal to a third place finish and a 9-2 record (Mar. 26-27).
• Sailed in the Coed PCCSC Championships to a first place finish in Division B  (Apr. 22-23).
• Served as crew at the Team Racing PCCSC Championships Carter Ford Trophy, helping the Cardinal to a first place finish and a 5-0 record (Apr. 24).   
• Sailed in the Sperry Women’s Eastern Semifinal to a second place finish in Division B (May. 24-25).
• Served as crew at the Team Race Nationals, helping the Cardinal to a sixth place finish and a 13-9 record (May 28-29).
• Sailed in the Gill Coed Eastern Semifinal to a seventh place finish in Division A (May 31- Jun. 1).
• Sailed in the Gill Coed National Championship to a sixth place finish in Division A (Jun. 2-3).

As a Junior (2014-2015) 

• Named to the ICSA All-Academic team
• Made her season debut at the Hatch Brown Trophy with skipper Reinier Eenkema van Dijk (Sept. 20)
• Went 6-0 with Hans Henken at the PCCSC Match Racing Championship (Oct. 4)
• Contributed to Stanford’s fifth-place finish at the Navy Fall (Oct. 18)
• Helped Stanford go 8-0 at both the Jeremy McIntyre Team Race (Feb. 28) and the Graham Hall Team Race (Mar. 21)
• Participated in the Friis Team Race with skipper Will La Dow (Mar. 28)
• With skipper Will La Dow, won the C-division of the Boston Dinghy Cup, helping Stanford claim the oldest trophy in college sailing (Apr. 26)
• Part of the Stanford squad which won the Carter Ford Team Race Championship, the Cardinal’s sixth conference title of the season (May 3)
• Helped the Cardinal finish third at Laserperformance Team Race Nationals (May 31)

As a Sophomore (2013-2014) 

• Placed fifth in division-A with two wins in 14 races to help lead Stanford to a fifth-place result at the Emily Wick Trophy (April 13)
• Finished first in division-A with three wins in nine races to help lift Stanford to a first place result at the St. Francis Interconference (March 30)
• Helped lead Stanford to a third-place finish at the Navy Women’s Spring Intersectional with a third-place result in division-A (March 9)
• Finished first in division-B with two victories in five races at the North #1 (Feb. 9)
• Placed sixth in division-B with two top-five results in four races to help lead Stanford to a seventh-place result at the Rose Bowl Regatta (Jan. 5)
• Placed eighth in division-B to help Stanford earn a seventh-place result at the Victorian Coffee Urn (Nov. 3)
• Helped team finish 11th at the Stoney Burke regatta by finishing 12th out of a field of 27 in division-B, contributing 121 points (Oct. 20)
• Competed in nine regattas on the year

As a Freshman (2012-2013)

• Crewed seven events
• Third at Jan Friis/Lynne Marchiando Team Race and Ferrarone Team Race
• Won John Jackson Memorial Team Race (9-1 overall and 7-0 in the first round)
• Won Jeremy McIntyre Team Race (20-1 overall and 12-0 in final two rounds)
• Third at Nickerson Trophy, finishing sixth in A-Division with Axel Sly as skipper
• Competed in PCCSC Fall JV with Michael Dahl
