  • Broke the Stanford record in the 400 while winning the Australian national championship in Melbourne on April 3, running 45.36 while wearing a Stanford uniform.
  • Earned a spot on Australia's Commonwealth Games team with that time.
  • Finished second at the Pac-12 Championships in 45.79.
  • Suffered a hamstring strain in that race that kept him from competing at the NCAA West Prelims.
  • Won the 400 at the Big Meet and anchored Stanford to the 4x400 relay victory (3:12.07).
  • Won the sophomore Block 'S' honor at the Stanford Athletic Board award.

Indoors

  • Gave Stanford the lead for good with a 45.75 split for 400 in the distance medley relay at the NCAA indoor championships, allowing the Cardinal win the title in 9:37.63, on March 14 in Albuquerque, N.M.
  • Teamed with Marco Bertolotti, Luke Lefebure, and Michael Atchoo on the team.
  • Took the baton in second, but had the fastest split by more than a second over anyone else in the field and had a two-second advantage overall all but three on that leg.
  • Declined an individual 400 berth at the indoor nationals to stay fresh for the DMR.
  • Won the MPSF title in the 400 in 46.24, his indoor personal best.
  • Ran the second leg on Stanford's fourth-place 4x400 at the MPSF Championships (3:12.20).
  • Won the invite 400 at the Husky Classic in 46.42, the No. 2 indoor mark in Stanford history, on Feb. 15.
  • Won the invite 500 in a school and meet record 1:01.44 to win the Penn State National, on Feb. 1.
  • The time was the third-fastest in the world to that point and the fastest by a collegian.
  • Ran the second leg on Stanford's winning 4x400 relay at the Husky Classic, for the No. 8 indoor time ever at Stanford.
  • Ran the 400 leg of the second place DMR at Penn State, running a 45.8 split.
  • The team time of 9:28.95 was No. 3 in school history.

2013 Season:
Outdoors

  • Set a Stanford freshman record and vaulted to No. 3 on the school's all-time list in the 400 with a season best of 46.12 at the Pac-12 Championships.
  • Finished third in the race while competing against two other 2012 Olympians.
  • Earned second-team All-America honors after running 46.41 in the semifinals of the NCAA Championships.
  • Had the seventh-fastest time at the NCAA West Prelims (46.59).
  • Broke 47 seconds in all five open 400 races.
  • Made collegiate debut winning the Big Meet.
  • Also anchored the 4x400 to victory at the Big Meet and to seventh in the Pac-12's (3:10.56) ... one of seven 2012 Olympic finalists to compete in collegiate track and field.

2012 Olympics:

  • At age 19, reached the 2012 Olympic final in the 400 meters, finishing eighth in 45.14 in London.
  • Qualified seventh with a personal record of 44.97 in the semifinals.
  • Became the first Australian man in 24 years to reach an Olympic 400 final.
  • Opened with a personal best of 45.18 in the first round.
  • Ran on Australia's 4x400 that ran 3:03.17 in the first round and failed to advance to the final.

2013 World Championships:

  • Led off the Australia 4x400 relay team that finished eighth in the final of the worlds in Moscow, Russia, on Aug. 16, running 3:02.26.
  • His split was 45.3.

National/International:

  • Won Australia national 400 championships in 2011 and 2012.
  • Led off with a 45.25 split from lane eight to help Australia (3:02.26) finish eighth at the 2013 IAAF World Championships in Moscow, Russia.
  • Earned a bronze medal at the 2012 IAAF World Junior Championships in Barcelona, Spain, running a personal record 45.54.
  • Broke a 30-year-old national junior record in 2011.
  • Was part of the Australian 4x400 team that competed at the 2011 World Championships in Daegu, South Korea, and finished fifth in its heat in 3:01.56 and failed to reach the final.
  • His 44.97 ranked him No. 21 on the 2012 world performance list.
  • Was second at the 2013 Maccabiah Games, in 46.24.
  • Ran in the 2013 Morton Games in Dublin, Ireland, finishing third in 46.18.

High School/Club:

  • Competed for the Randwick Botany Harriers where he was coached by Ukrainian-born Fira Dvoskina.

  • Won the 2009 Under-17 All-Schools Championship in the 400.
