Katherine Susskind Risso returned to The Farm in 2016 after spending two years at UC Santa Barbara working primarily with men’s basketball and tennis as the Associate Head Athletic Trainer. Risso was an Athletic Training Fellow at Stanford from 2012-2014, working with football, tennis, synchronized swimming, and field hockey.

Risso believes in a global and functional approach to injury treatment and prevention, assessing the body and relative mechanics as a whole. She is active in the profession at the state and district level, serving as the Far West Athletic Trainers’ Association (FWATA) Public Relations Committee Chair. She enjoys participating in community outreach opportunities and educating the public on the role and importance of athletic trainers.

In her spare time Risso enjoys cooking, trying new restaurants, snowboarding, hiking, and spending time with her family and friends. Her husband, Brian Risso, also works in the athletic department at Stanford, serving as the Assistant Athletic Director for Communications.
