• Brother, Garrett, plays squash at Cal and is a top-ranked junior player in the country
• Grandfather, Masahiko Kitahata, was on the Japanese Olympic swim team in 1944 (games canceled due to World War II)
• Great grandfather, Jan DeMoor, was a professional soccer player for Ajax (Netherlands) in the 1920s
• Multi-sport athlete at Stanford, competing in squash and women's soccer
