- Played club for Stanford Water Polo Club and for NorCal Water Polo Club
- Helped team to fourth-place finish at 2010 Junior Olympics

- Parents are Chris and Marybeth Dorst
- Both parents graduated from and were student-athletes at Stanford
- Father Chris was a two-time All-American as a goalie for the men's water polo team and a two-time U.S. Olympian (1980, '84), winning silver at the 1984 Los Angeles Games
- Mother Marybeth (Linzmeier) was an eight-time NCAA champion swimmer for the Cardinal and earned a spot on the 1980 U.S. Olympic Team
- Has two older sisters, Lindsay and Rebecca, who play water polo for California and UCLA, respectively
- An aunt, Jane Clark, also graduated from Stanford and was a Stanford Dolly
