Stanford welcomed Johnatan Rico as Director of Operations during the summer of 2023 ahead of the fall season.
"I have had the pleasure of getting to know Johnatan quite well over the past. few years," said The Knowles Family Director of Men's Soccer Jeremy Gunn. " I was impressed with him as an outstanding collegiate student-athlete, and more recently we have been thankful for all of the work he has done in our department. Johnatan is a bright, energetic young man who will continue to grow and become an integral part of our staff."
A 2019 graduate of the University of the Pacific, Rico earned his bachelor's degree in Sports Management with a minor in Business Management. While in Stockton, California, Rico helped the Tigers earn three NCAA tournament appearances and advance to the second round on two occasions.
In 2019, Rico finished in the top-10 in minutes played and goals per minute in the West Coast Conference. During his playing career with Pacific, Rico tallied nine goals and four assists. Rico also competed with the Houston Dynamo in 2018, prior to returning to Stockton for his senior year.
A Bay Area local, Rico grew up competing with the Juventus Academy prior to his time at Pacific. Most recently, Rico has spent time working with Stanford Athletics in the Fan Experience, Event Management, and Game Operations departments.
