Learie Jones is in his first season at Stanford as associate athletic trainer, working with the men’s basketball team.
Jones is responsible for the rehabilitation, evaluation, prevention, and overall care of injuries for athletes, and is a Board Of Certification Inc., Certified Athletic Trainer. He also holds certifications from the National Association of Sports Medicine as a performance enhancement specialist and as a corrective exercise specialist and is a BLS provider from the American Heart Association.
He arrived on the Farm after three seasons at Washington State, from 2021-24, where he also worked with the men’s basketball program under head coach Kyle Smith. Prior to his time in Pullman, Jones spent four seasons at Saint Mary’s from 2017-21, where he worked with women’s basketball, men’s and women’s tennis, track and field and cross country, and two seasons at Ohlone college from 2015-17. He also worked from 2016-17 as an athletic trainer for Stanford’s club sports program.
Jones is a 2014 graduate of North Carolina with a degree in exercise and sports science, with a concentration in athletic training, and he earned a Master’s in Kinesiology from San Jose State in 2017.
