Shawna McManus

Shawna McManus is the Director, Human Resources for Stanford’s Department of Athletics, Physical Education and Recreation.

McManus is responsible for the full life-cycle of human resources initiatives including recruitment and retention, compensation and classification, equity and diversity, training and development, employee relations, leaves administration and payroll services. 

McManus has been with Stanford since 2016. Prior to her arrival on The Farm, she was the director of human resources at the University of Michigan Law School. Before beginning her employment at the University of Michigan in 2001, she worked in the entertainment industry as an administrator and human resources manager.

McManus received her bachelor's degree in business administration from Pepperdine University.  McManus is a Professional in Human Resources (PHR), a Society of Human Resources-Certified Professional (SHRM-CP), and is a member of Women Leaders in College Sports.
