DASH is pleased to announce the 9th annual GameFACES Program, an event dedicated to
highlighting the experiences and personal growth of Stanford student-athletes. Inspired by
the Faces of Community program, traditionally held during New Student Orientation,
GameFACES offers a platform for student-athletes to share their stories of resilience and the challenges they have overcome. This year's program aims to foster community building and provide a space for connection across the broader Stanford campus.
Story topics may include, but are not limited to:
- Mental health challenges (eg. depression, anxiety, substance use, etc.)
- Transition into/out of college
- Illness/coping with injury
- Personal development and self-discovery
- Navigating relationships (eg. friends, family, romantic, teammates, coaches, etc.)
- Dealing with grief and loss
This year, GameFACES is proud to feature six exceptional Stanford student-athletes who are enthusiastic to share their personal journeys. These individuals have invested significant time and effort in preparing their presentations, carefully crafting their stories to offer insights into their experiences. Their commitment to the program extends beyond simply speaking; they are deeply invested in connecting with both their fellow student-athletes and the larger Stanford community. They hope to create an atmosphere of understanding, empathy, and support, reinforcing the power of shared narratives in building a stronger and more inclusive campus environment.
