Men's Tennis Defeats Georgia Tech, 4-0

STANFORD, Calif. - The fifth-ranked Stanford men's tennis team, seeded second in the NCAA Tournament, advances to the NCAA Championships after defeating Georgia Tech 4-0 this afternoon at Taube Family Tennis Stadium.

With the doubles point in hand, Stanford won at No. 1, 2 and 5 singles slots, all in straight sets. Georgia Tech played without its No. 1 singles player, as Benjamin Cassaigne was out due to illness.

With the win, Stanford heads to Athens, Ga., with the chance to win the program's fifth straight national championship. This is the first time all 16 Championship participants were required to compete at the regional level in the new postseason format. This year's finals will be hosted by the University of Georgia.

Stanford's record improves to 20-2, while Georgia Tech ends its season with a 16-8 mark.
