STANFORD, Calif. - Senior guard Regan Freuen scored 19 points to lead the Cardinal, but it wasn't enough, as Washington defeated Stanford 74-62 Thursday night at Maples Pavilion.

The Huskies scored the first 10 points of the game en route to a 40-31 halftime edge.

Stanford stayed in the game with its long-distance shooting. The Cardinal was nine for 23 (39 percent) from behind the arc, including five-of-11 by Freuen.Stanford also received a strong effort by sophomore forward Carolyn Moos, who posted a double-double of 16 points and 13 rebounds.

Washington had three players reach double figures in points. Jamie Redd led the way with 23, followed by Megan Franza with 15 and Amber Hall with 11.

The Cardinal falls to 14-10, 10-3 in the Pac-10. The Huskies improve to 12-11, 8-6 in the conference.

Stanford will face Washington State this Saturday in Maples Pavilion at 7:30 p.m.
