Women's Golf Falls to Eigth Place after Two Rounds at NCAA Regionals

TULSA, Okla. - Stanford shot a 308 Friday in the third round of the NCAA Women's Golf Championships to fall back to eighth place at the Tulsa Country Club. The Cardinal is 21 shots behind leader Duke, but is only five shots out of fifth place and 13 out of second with 18 holes to play.

Arizona State's Grace Park remained the overall leader for the third straight day, shooting a 70 to finish at one-under 212 for the tournament. Duke's Candy Hannemann, who led by three shots at one point during the day, is now one stroke behind Park.

Friday Stanford was led by 75s from sophomore Stephanie Keever (Las Vegas, NV/Cimarron-Memorial HS), who moved into a tie for 15th, and junior Julie Dunn (Las Vegas, NV/Bishop Gorman HS), who is now tied for 21st. Sophomore Hilary Homeyer (Edina, MN/Edina HS) carded a 78 to fall back into a tie for 15th. Senior Michelle Sperry (Poway, CA/Poway HS) shot an 80 while junior JaeJean Ro (San Jose, CA/Valley Christian HS) fired an 81 for the Cardinal.

The teams will play the final round of 18 holes Saturday. Saturday's fourth round will be broadcast tape-delayed on ESPN2 Sunday at 2:30 p.m. Pacific time.
