STANFORD, Calif. - Cal Poly-San Luis Obispo defeated Stanford 26-12Saturday night at Burnham Pavilion. Junior James Gross (Penn Valley,CA/Nevada Union) and senior David Wells (Orange, CA/El Modena) postedmajor decisions to lead the Mustangs.
The team score went back and forth through the first sixmatches, with senior Beau Weiner (Placerville, CA/Ponderosa) puttingStanford ahead 12-10 with a forfeit victory at 157 pounds. But theMustangs bounced back to win the last four matches and claim the overallvictory.
Stanford returns to action Friday night against Fresno State inthe final home dual match of the season. The contest starts at 7:00p.m. in Burnham Pavilion. Stanford will also host the Pac-10Championships, Feb. 27-28, in Burnham Pavilion. Cal Poly visits SanFrancisco State Tuesday night at 7:00 p.m.
