STANFORD, Calif. - Senior Lindsey Dunagan (St. Louis, MO/St. Louis Country Day School) scored twice to lead the Stanford women's field hockey team past Pacific 5-0 in a NorPac Conference game Saturday at Stanford's Varsity Turf Field. The Cardinal improves to 3-0 in the conference and 4-5 overall, while the Tigers drop to 0-7, 0-2.

Dunagan scored three minutes into the game on an assist by senior Julie Gwozdz (Weston, MA/Phillip Academy), then scored four minutes later on an assist from freshman Amanda Billmyer (Berwyn, PA/The Episcopal Academy). Gwozdz then scored her first goal of the year on a penalty stroke with a minute left in the half. Sophomore Erica Swesey (Cherry Hill, NJ/Bishop Eustace HS) scored early in the second half, and freshman Christina Williams (Columbus, OH The Columbus Academy) scored the final goal. Stanford sophomore goalie Rebecca Shapiro (Baltimore, MD/The Park School) made one first-half save for the shutout. Pacific tallied only three shots, all in the first half, to the Cardinal's 35.

The Cardinal returns to action next Sunday (10/3) for a non-league game against Cal Poly-San Luis Obispo at 1 p.m. Pacific plays at California next Saturday at 1 p.m. 1 2 F Pacific 0 0 - 0 Stanford 3 2 - 5
