Freshman outside hitter Logan Tom (Salt Lake City, UT/Highland HS) posted 16 kills to lead #7 Stanford (14-2, 8-1 Pac-10) to a straight-game 16-14, 15-4, 15-2 victory over #18 Arizona (11-5, 5-3 Pac-10) in front of a season-high 2,841 zealous fans at Maples Pavilion. The match was shown live on Fox Sports Net and marked the 35th straight home victory for Stanford, who has also won 51 consecutive Pac-10 home matches. Overall, Stanford has won 13 of its last 14 matches and remains one-half game behind first-place UCLA (16-1, 8-0 Pac-10) in the conference standings. The Bruins won at Oregon this evening.

Stanford struggled early in tonight's match and had to overcome a game point for Arizona in the first game before coming back for a 16-14 win. However, the Cardinal was dominant in games two and three. Stanford jumped out to an 8-0 lead in game two and finished with a .632 attack percentage on 14 kills and zero errors. Stanford's defense took over in game three with five team blocks, holding Arizona to a -.129 attack percentage.

Senior middle blocker Kerri Walsh (Saratoga, CA/Archbishop Mitty HS) contributed 11 kills, 10 digs and five blocks for Stanford, while junior setter Lindsay Kagawa (Albany, CA/Albany HS) had 29 assists.

Freshman outside hitter Lisa Rutledge (Vista, CA/Vista HS) led the Wildcats with nine kills.Stanford, ranked #5 in the nation in attack percentage, posted a .327 attack percentage. The Cardinal has now hit .300 or better in 10 of 16 matches this season.

Stanford will next be in action when #3 Pacific tests the Cardinal's 35-match home win streak next Tuesday (7:00 pm).
