In a crucial MPSF conference game at Oregon State, the Cardinal men's soccer team defeated the Beavers 3-1. Stanford remains unbeaten in the conference, and now holds a record of 4-0-1 in the conference and 9-2-2 overall.
Only one minute into play, Oregon State scored with a shot that snuck past goal keeper Adam Zapala next to the near post on a shot from Alex Close from an assist from Greg Howes and Ben Roth.
Stanford got on the board in the 42nd minute of play as freshman midfielder Todd Dunivant scored the first goal of his collegiate career off a pass from Brandon Garinger. The first half ended with a 1-1 tie.
Stanford dominated the second half of the game , taking 14 shots to OSU's three. Senior midfielder T.K. Inbody scored his first goal of the season when Stanford was awarded a penalty kick. The Cardinal scored again in the 59th minute as junior forward Corey Woolfolk volleyed in a pass from Inbody.
Stanford will remain up North to take on Washington on Sunday, Oct. 24 at 2 p.m. Washington defeated Cal Friday night 2-1, and also remains unbeaten in the conference with a record of 3-0 in the MPSF, 10-3-2 overall.
