The sixth-ranked Stanford women's golf team is in a three-way tie with Arizona State and Texas A&M for fifth place after the first round of the Stanford/Pepsi Women's Intercolliagite at the Stanford Golf Course.
The Cardinal shot a first round 299, trailing first place Pepperdine (294) by five strokes. Junior All-American Stephanie Keever led Stanford with a 73, which placed her in a tie for seventh place with seven other golfers.
Junior Lauren Robertson shot her lowest round of the season with a two-over par 74, putting her in a six-way tie for 14th place.
Jessica Krantz of San Jose State and Jill Gomric of Arizona lead the tournament after shooting a two-under par 70 in the first round.
