Men's Swimmers Win Five Events At Pacific Invitational

STOCKTON, Calif. - Stanford won five events at the Pacific Invitational to kick off the 1999-2000 season Saturday. Junior Adam Messner (Ann Arbor, MI/Dexter HS) won the 100 fly and the 200 free to lead the Cardinal. Stanford finished third overall in the men's team scoring behind California and Pacific, but Stanford did not enter any teams in the five relay races contested on Friday.

Also for the Cardinal freshman Randall Bal (Fair Oaks, CA/Bella Vista HS) won the 100 back, junior Steven Brown (Reno, NV/Reno HS) won the 200 fly and junior Rob Canales (San Jose, CA/Bellarmine Prep) won the 200 back.

The Cardinal men return to action Oct. 29-30 at the College Cup in Vancouver, B.C., Canada.
