No. 17 Men's Soccer Defeats No. 9 Santa Clara 1-0 In Double OT

SANTA CLARA, Calif. - The Stanford men's soccer team upset No. 9 Santa Clara on Tuesday night in a 1-0 win in double overtime.

Junior transfer from New Zealand Ryan Nelsen scored the only goal of the night for the Cardinal when he headed in a corner kick from senior Gerard Davis in the 108th minute.

Senior goalkeeper Adam Zapala posted four saves, and recorded his eighth shutout of the year.

The Cardinal will finish its regular season this weekend at the Cal Adidas Legacy Classic where the team will face sixth-ranked St. Louis and UC Santa Barbara.
