Women's Golf Moves Into Ninth Place

Hilton Head, S.C. - The sixth-ranked Stanford women's golf team moved into ninth place after shooting a second round 308 today at the Golf World/Palmetto Dunes Invitational at the Arthur Hills at Palmetto Hall course. The Cardinal has a two-day total 614 heading into tomorrow's final round.

Individually, junior All-American Hilary Homeyer shot a one under-par 71 to move into a tie for sixth place heading into the third round. Homeyer's total of 146 is four strokes behind tournament leader Jenna Daniels of Arizona (142). The second round one under-par performance is Homeyer's matches her lowest round of the season which she shot in the first round of the NCAA Fall Preview in September.

After finishing the first round of play in a tie for 12th place, junior All-American Stephanie Keever shot a season-high 79 to fall into a tie for 27th place at 153. Keever is tied with fellow Cardinal senior JaeJean Ro, who finished with a second round 72 after a first round 81.

Freshman Kim Rowton and junior Laura Robertson each shot a second round 81. Rowton's two-day total of 162 places her in a tie for 51st place, while Robertson is in 56th place with a 167.

The Arthur Hills at Palmetto Hall course plays as a par 72, 6,257-yard course. The final round of play will begin tomorrow at 8 a.m.
