Despite an early lead and a ten-point performance from both Sarah Dimson and Jamie Carey the Stanford women's basketball team posted their third straight loss this season. The team fell to St. Joseph's 41-69 on Tuesday, Dec. 14th in Philadelphia.
The Cardinal started the game strong, running up a 13-4 lead in the first six minutes of play before the Hawks recovered. At halftime, St. Joseph's led 34-24. In the first half, Stanford had nine turnovers and shot 50 percent from the field. Sarah Dimson and Lauren St. Clair posted six points each in the first half.
St. Joseph's dominated the second half, scoring 35 points to Stanford's 17. The Cardinal had 17 turnovers to the Hawk's five, and could only shoot 33 percent from the field. The final score marked the lowest score for the Cardinal since the 1983-84 season when the team posted 32 points against Missouri.
The Cardinal will look to snap the three game skid when they host Western Michigan this Saturday, Dec. 18 at Maples Pavilion at 12:30 p.m.
