Women's Basketball Snaps Three Game Skid with Win Over Western Michigan 80-66

STANFORD, Calif. - Junior Carolyn Moos had a career-high 23 points, 12 rebounds and five steals to lead Stanford (3-3) to an 80-66 win over Western Michigan (2-5). Moos was one of four Cardinal players to record point totals in the double digits. Sophomore Lauren St. Clair sunk five three-point baskets for 15 points, freshman forward Jamie Carey hit four from behind the three-point line and tallied 14 total points, and sophomore forward Enjoli Izidor posted 10 points. The eight three-point goals made in the second half ties the school record for most in a half. The game total of 11 ties for sixth place in the record book for number of three-point goals in a game.

The Cardinal struggled in the first half, shooting 41 percent to Western Michigan's 60 percent. The game went into halftime with the Broncos up 34-32. In the first half, Stanford forced 10 turnovers and had seven steals. In the second half, the Cardinal defense continued to dominate, as Western Michigan's shooting percentage fell to 45 percent. In the second half alone, Stanford forced eight turnovers for six points, but only gave up two for three points. St. Clair scored 12 of her 15 total points in the second half, and the team connected on a school-record tying eight three-point baskets.

Stanford will next travel to Stockton on Monday, Dec. 20 to take on the University of the Pacific at 7 p.m.
