STANFORD, Calif. - The No. 5 Stanford women's tennis team defeated T-No. 6 Texas in non-conference action at Taube Family Tennis Stadium this afternoon.
The Cardinal clinched the meet after singles action, taking five of six matches. But Texas emerged victorious for two of three doubles points.
Stanford improves to 11-1, while Texas falls to 3-2. Stanford leads the all-time series with the Longhorns 10-4.
The Cardinal will face its neighbor across the Bay when No. 4 California visits Taube Family Tennis Stadium for a noon meet on Sat., Feb. 27.
