STANFORD, Calif. - The Stanford men's golf team is improving round by round, positioning itself into fifth place heading into the final day of the Pac-10 Men's Golf Championships, held at the Broadmoor Golf Club in Seattle, Wash.

Senior All-American Joel Kribel followed his six-under 64 yesterday afternoon with a tournament-low 63 today on the par-70, 6,186-yard layout, and now leads all individuals by eight strokes with a 13-under 197. Yesterday's leader, Arizona State's Paul Casey, carded a 72 and is now tied for second at 205 with Oregon's Andrew Tredway.

Stanford fired a seven-over 357 this afternoon and owns a three-round total 1088, 33 strokes behind leader Arizona State, who is at a three-over 1053. Oregon (1069), UCLA (1070) and host Washington (1075) round out the top four teams in the standings.

Behind Kribel, the Cardinal was strongly supported by three players who each carded 73s in this afternoon's round: Dusy Brett (T35th), Eric Dahlberg (T51st) and Alex Aragon (T53rd). Also playing for Stanford are James Lee and Rudy Barreto, who are both tied for 28th place overall.

The final round of the 72-hole tournament will begin tomorrow at 8 a.m. off the first and 10th tees.
