Cardinal Defeat Arizona Behind Balanced Attack

STANFORD, Calif. - Stanford improved its record to 10-9 on the season and 6-2 in conferenceplay with a 79-64 home victory against Arizona (9-8). This is the thirdstraight victory for Stanford marking the longest winning streak of theseason. The win over Arizona came behind a balanced attack which saw fourCardinal players scoring in double figures, including senior Regan Freuen'scareer high 23 points. Freuen shot 8-9 from the field, including 5-6 frombehind the arc.

The Cardinal went into halftime with a 43-34 lead, however they turned theball over on each of Stanford's first five possessions. The Wildcats wereable to only score two points off those Cardinal miscues. Stanford thenpulled away in the game with Freuen and Milena Flores combining for 21straight Stanford points. Flores finished the night with a double-doubleof 17 points and 11 assists. Additionally, Yamasaki finished with 18points and Carolyn Moos added 14. On the boards, Moos led the team with10, while Yamasaki and Behany Donaphin each had eight to give Stanford a42-28 rebouding edge in the game. Angela Lackey led the way for Arizonawith 19 points and Felecity Willis had a team-high six rebounds.

The Cardinal will host Arizona State on Saturday night at 7:30 pm and willthen travel to Cal for a game next Friday at Kaiser Arena.
