FRESNO, Calif. - Sophomore middle blocker Sara Sandrik (Pelham, AL/Pelham HS) had eight kills, seven digs and four blocks to lead sixth-ranked Stanford (9-1) to an easy 15-2, 15-9, 15-3 road win over Fresno State (6-7) on Tuesday night at North Gym.
The Cardinal dominated the 62-minute match throughout, and held the Bulldogs to just a -.029 hitting percentage (24 K-27 E-102 TA). That percentage is the lowest by a Stanford opponent since Missouri hit -.094 against the Cardinal at the Connecticut Tournament on September 5, 1997.
Stanford, meanwhile, committed just nine errors in the match to finish at a .247 clip (29 K-9 E-81 TA). Sandrik had the team-highs of eight kills and seven digs to go with a .500 hitting percentage, while sophomore Tara Conrad (Torrance, CA/West HS) added six kills and six blocks and freshman Logan Tom (Salt Lake City, UT/Highland HS) contributed six kills and six digs.
Stanford also dominated the net, with 11 blocks to the Bulldogs' three. The Cardinal has outblocked its opposition in all 10 matches this season, The three-game win was also Stanford's fifth during its current eight-match winning streak.
The Cardinal returns to action on Thursday when it hosts Oregon at 7:00 p.m. at Maples Pavilion. The first 1,000 fans through the turnstiles will receive a free Stanford Volleyball Schedule Water Bottle.
