Stanford Men's Gymnastics Takes Second Place to Open 2000 Season

Berkeley, Calif. - The Stanford men's gymnastics team opened the 2000 season with a second place finish in a three-way meet with California and UC Santa Barbara in Berkeley, Calif. today.

The Cardinal scored a total team score of 214.400, trailing first place California (221.400) and ahead of UCSB, which tallied 203.290.

David Durante, Ricardo Andrade, and Cade Raggio led Stanford. Durante tied with two Cal gymnasts for first place on the pommel horse with a 9.650, while Andrade scored a 9.250 on the still rings for the meets top honors. As for Raggio, he scored a 9.500 on the parallel bars for a first place finish.

The Cardinal will return to action on Saturday, Jan. 22 in a dual meet against California at Burhnam Pavilion on the Stanford campus. The meet will begin at 7:00 p.m.
