#2 Stanford Faces #9 Michigan In Exhibition Meet

ANN ARBOR, Mich. - In preparation for Saturday's dual meet, the second-ranked Stanford University men's swimming and diving squad competed against ninth-ranked University of Michigan in an eight-event exhibition meet on Friday (Jan. 14) at Canham Natatorium. No team scoring was recorded during the meet.

Three Wolverines turned in first-place finishes in the short-course metered event. Junior All-American Chris Thompson (Roseburg, Ore./Roseburg HS) finished first in the second event of the night, the 1,500-meter freestyle. Thompson turned in a time of 15:18.29.

Sophomore All-American Tim Siciliano (San Marcos, Calif./San Marcos HS) was first in the 400-meter individual medley (4:17.26). Junior All-American Scott Werner (Haymarket, Va./Paul VI HS)had the top time in the 100-meter breaststroke, clocking in at 1:02.29.

Michigan and Stanford compete in a dual meet tomorrow (Saturday, Jan. 15) at Canham Natatorium. The meet starts at 12 noon.
