Cardinal Golf Reaches Third Place To Conclude Tournament

Palos Verdes, Calif. -- The Stanford women's golf team closed out the SMU/OSU Regional Challenge in a tie for third place with an 894 at the Palos Verdes Golf Course in Palos Verdes, Calif. Stanford finished round three tied with Georgia at 27 strokes over par.

The Cardinal entered the final round in sixth place, but shot a season-low round of 291 to finish 25 strokes behind first place Arizona. It is Stanford's second third place finish of the season. The Cardinal placed third at the Edean Ihlanfeldt Invitational in Washington last October.

Individually, junior All-American Stephanie Keever had season-low round of 68, three stokes under-par, in third round to advance to fourth place. Keever finished the tournament with a 215, tied with Christina Monteiro of Arizona.

Junior All-American Hilary Homeyer also made a significant jump on the final day. Homeyer advanced from 24th place and into a tie for tenth place. Homeyer shot a 70 in the third round for a three day total 221.

Senior JaeJean Ro also had her best round of the tournament with a 75. Ro tied sixth other golfers for 37t place in the tournament.
