Santa Barbara, Calif. - No. 2 Stanford women's water polo defeated MPSF foe UC Santa Barbara 13-5 on March 29. The Cardinal scored five goals to give them a 5-1 advantage in the first seven minutes of play.
Stanford was led in scoring by sophomore Margie Dingeldein, who scored six goals. Freshman Julie Gardner scored three goals, and junior Dani Bell scored two. Junior Kris Koblik and freshman Amy Lightner scored one goal each. Freshman goalkeeper Jackie Frank made 16 saves to limit Santa Barbara to five goals, and held the Gauchos scoreless in the second period.
The Cardinal's record improves to 15-4, 6-1 in the MPSF. Stanford will return home to host Long Beach State on Friday, March 31.
