No. 2 Stanford women's water polo routed Hawaii in the final day of the Aloha Classic 14-3. Sophomore Margie Dingeldein was named the tournament MVP after scoring seven goals in the two-day tournament, three against Hawaii, three against San Jose State and one against Michigan. Stanford's goalkeeper Jackie Frank was also named to the All-Tournament team.
Sophomore Margie Dingeldein led the scoring drive for the Cardinal, recording three goals for Stanford. Ali Riddell, Kelly Shouey and Kate Pettit scored two goals each, and Hilary Gallogly, Dani Bell, Kris Koblik, Anne-Marie Keenan and Julie Gardner scored one goal each. Jackie Frank tended the net for Stanford in the first three quarters, making two saves and limiting the Rainbows to three goals. Alli Henry came in as goalkeeper and made three saves to keep Hawaii scoreless in the fourth quarter.
Stanford now holds a record of 12-3 overall, 2-0 in the MPSF. The Cardinal will take a week off before competing again on Sunday, March 19 at UCLA at noon.
