No. 2 Stanford women's water polo defeated San Jose State for the fourth time this year. The Cardinal won 10-3 over the Spartans in the second game of the Aloha Classic in Hawaii.
Sophomore Margie Dingeldein led the scoring drive for the Cardinal, recording three goals in the first quarter. Anne-Marie Keenan recorded one goal in the first quarter to give Stanford a 4-0 lead to start the game. Junior Hilary Gallogly and freshman Julie Gardner scored two goals each, and juniors Kris Koblik and Anne-Marie Keenan and freshman Nicole Huszcz scored one goal each to give the Cardinal a 10-3 win. Redshirt freshman Jackie Frank defended the net for the Cardinal for the first three quarters, holding the Spartans scoreless for two. Junior Alli Henry stepped in for Frank in the fourth quarter, making three saves and limiting San Jose State to one goal.
Stanford now holds a record of 11-3 overall. The Cardinal will play in the second MPSF Conference match of the season Sunday against Hawaii.
