Women's Golf Tied for 7th Place After First Day of Ping/ASU Invitational

Tempe, Ariz. - Senior golfer JaeJean Ro leads the Cardinal in the first day of the Ping/ASU Invitational. Tied for 8th place, Ro turned in an even-par first round of 72 to put the Stanford women in a tie for 7th place after the first day of play. The squad turned in a first day total of 298.

Junior Stephanie Keever is tied for 23rd place after the first round of play with a stroke total of 74. Junior Hilary Homeyer is tied for 34th place with a 75, and freshman Kim Rowton is tied for 53rd with a first day total of 77. Junior Lauren Robertson is tied for 64th with a round of 78, and junior Salimah Mussani, who is competing as an individual, is tied for 74th place with a first round score of 80.

After the first round of play, Arizona leads the Invitational with a total of 288. New Mexico is in second with a total of 291, and Arizona State and Southern California are tied for second with a total of 292. The Ping/ASU Invitational is a three-day event, and will continue on Saturday, April 8 with the second round.
