SAN JOSE, Calif. - The Stanford women's water polo team went 2-0 onSaturday, April 8 to earn a berth into the MPSF 2000 Championship game. TheCardinal defeated San Diego State 9-6 and top-ranked UCLA 7-6 to make it tothe Championship game.
In the 9-6 decision over San Diego State, Margie Dingeldein scoredfour goals, while Julie Gardner contributed three and Anne Marie Keenan andDani Bell each scored one goal.
In the 7-6 victory over top-ranked UCLA, Julie Gardner led theCardinal in scoring with three goals. Anne Marie Keenan and Kelly Shoueyeach contributed two goals.
The Cardinal will face off against No. 2 Cal on Sunday at 1 pm forthe MPSF Conference title. Stanford is 0-3 against the Golden Bears thisseason.
