NEVADA

Head Coach Gary Powers (on approach to hitting): "I was disappointed on the way we approached our hitting, becuse that hasn't been our approach all season. I think it was evident we were swinging at bad pitches early in the count. We were very undisciplined today and I give Murphy credit for taking advantge of that. "

(on 6th inning): "That pretty much was the name of the game. We made one mistake and they buried us. It changes the whole complexion about how you want to go about and pitch. It was a situation when we should have had a runner on first base and two outs, instead we had runners on second and third and one out. Brown had already hit one home run and we had to play the percentages and try to get into a double play. He hit the ball of the park and we are down four instead of down one. You give credit where credit is due. We opened the door for them and they took advantage.

(on having to win four games now): "I don't look at it having to win four games in two days. It is a matter of playing each game as it comes and getting prepared to be the best team in each inning you play from here on out. We have been in a hole before. We know what we have to do. There are no secrets. It's one pitch, one play at a time."

Chad Qualls (on what was working): "I was pretty much throwing fastballs away. That was working. I give Alabama a lot of credit. They are a good hitting team and they hit some mistakes I made. My slider was working real well and my splitty. Every pitch I left up they hammered for base hits."

(on grand slam): "It was a good pitch, slider away. He had been poundng the ball the opposite field the whole day and just went with it and got it up in the wind."

Ryan Church (on fly ball in 6th inning): "We didn't get it done. I thought I was underneath it and would get it. Joe came in late and called for it. I closed my glove and let him have it and it just didn't happen."

Matt Ortiz (on Murphy's pitching): "He mixed his pitches real well. He took advantage of us swinging at bad balls and he made a pitch when he needed to. He did a fine job today."

ALABAMA

Head Coach Jim Wells (on starting pitching performance): "I thought Murphy was as good as he was all year. His pitch count was way down. They are very aggressive team. He was able to spot his pitches. He was able to throw an off speed pitch. It was as good an outing as he has had in his career."

(on a complete game): "It is huge. Plus when the guy who throws the complete game doesn't have to throw a ton of pitches. So it could not have worked out any better today, with one man throwing, limited pitches."

(can you pitch Murphy on Sunday): "Yes. He is in a position where he can certainly come back Sunday and help in a relief role."

Scott Murphy (on his success): "I was able to get my changeup across to lefties which helped me out a lot. They are real aggressive team and tehy swing the bat real well, especially the first four guys in the lineup. I was able to spot my fastballs real well."

(on being rested): "I felt real good out there. My arm felt the best it has in two weeks. It helped me mentally. If you are out there with a tired arm, it has some wear and tear on you. But it felt real good today."

Ben King (on grand slam): "I just want to hit something hard in the gaps. He threw me a slider. I knew I hit it good. His fastball and slider didn't seem to have much difference so the adjustment was easy."

Jeremy Brown (on home run): "I got a fastball inside and I put a good swing on it and I put a good swing on it. The wind is blowing out like 20 miles per hour. That kind of picked us up and we got moving from there.

(on being down 2-0 in 5th inning): "Every was getting a little worried because we hadn't scored. We all have confidence in each other and we knew Scott wouldn't give up too many more runs. We felt if we could push a couple across we could win the game."
