STANFORD, Calif. -- Third-ranked Stanford remained undefeated at 4-0 with a131-112 victory over #2 Arizona (7-2) in a key matchup between thePacific-10 Conference's top two teams at deGuerre Pool. The Cardinal ledwire-to-wire and won 10 of the meet's 13 events as four swimmers won a pairof events each. Automatic NCAA qualifying times by Shelly Ripple (BatonRogue, LA/Parkview Baptist HS) in the 200 fly (1:59.24) and the 100 backleadoff leg of the team's 400 medley relay, as well as Misty Hyman (Phoenix,AZ/Shadow Mountain HS) in the 200 back (1:56.76) highlighted the Cardinal'safternoon.

Ripple also won the 200 individual medley (2:01.80), while Hyman's othervictory was in the 200 free (1:48.14). Stanford's Siobhan Cropper (Trinidad,West Indies/St. Joseph's Convent) doubled in the 50 free (23.17) and the 100free (50.54), while Jessica Foschi (Old Brookville, NY/Friends Academy)picked up a pair of victories in the 500 free (4:49.08) and 1000 free(9:54.23). Stanford's other winners included Kim Powers (Crestview Hills,KY/Dixie Heights HS) in three-meter diving (450.75 points) and theCardinal's 400 medley relay team (3:40.92) of Ripple, Gabrielle Rose, Hymanand Cropper.

Arizona's individual winners were Adrian David (West Vancouver,Canada/Sentinel HS) in the one-meter diving (373.80 points), Amanda Beard(Irvine, CA/Irvine HS) in the 200 breast (2:16.29) and the Wildcats' 400free relay team (3:24.63) of Denali Knapp, Emily Mastin, Jenny Vanker andSarah Tolar.
