With windy conditions in the morning driving some teams scores upward, the Stanford women's golf team finished in third, shooting a three-day total of 886, at the Stanford/Pepsi Intercollegiate. Arizona won the tournament, shooting a nine-over 873. Southern California took second with an 879, just six strokes off the pace. Rounding out the top five were Tulsa (894) and New Mexico State (896).
Individually, Tulsa's Stacy Prammanasudh shot a six under-par 210 to win the tourney. Arizona's Lorena Ochoa finished second with a three under-par 213. USC's Leila Chartrand took third with a two under-par 214 on the afternoon while teammate Candie Kung finished fourth with a one under-par 215. Pepperdine's Katherine Hull and Arizona's Natalie Gulbis tied for fifth at 217.
Top finisher for the Cardinal was senior Hilary Homeyer who tied for ninth individually with a 221 followed by freshman Angela Rho who carded a 222. Sophomore Kim Rowton finished 14th with a 223. Stanford's Jessica Belskis tied for 27th with a 228 while Stephanie Keever tied for 32nd with a 229. Competing as an individual, freshman Kim Kouwabunpat also carded a 229 to tie for 32nd.
The third place finish by Stanford marks its 24th consecutive top 10 finish and have placed in the top five in five of the last six tournaments.
