South Bend, In - The Stanford women's cross country team, ranked #1 in the nation, defeated 30 other teams (including five teams ranked in the Top 25) to win the 45th annual Notre Dame Invitational on Friday at the Burke Memorial Golf Course.
The Cardinal scored 35 points compared to 13th-ranked Michigan with 143 points. Erin Sullivan, Jillian Mastroianni and Lauren Fleshman led a 2-3-4 finish for the Cardinal.
The Cardinal men's team, ranked second in the nation, easily won the team competition with 23 points compared to tenth-ranked Arizona with 116 points. Six of the nation's Top-25 teams competed in the men's portion of the meet.
Five Stanford runners finished in the Top-10, led by Grant Robison with a second place finish followed by Thomas Murley in third place and Donald Sage in fourth.
