UCLA head coach Bob Toledo:

"First of all, I apologize to Bruin fans for being so conservative in the last quarter (laughs). It was a heck of an effort. It was a great game for Homecoming. I was really proud of the fans that came out to support us."

"We overcame a lot of adversity. We were behind at first, but right before the half, we came back and continued to battle the rest of the game."

"We needed to win this game to become Bowl-eligible. We're looking forward to a battle in Seattle."

"I have to give credit to Stanford. I know they worked hard this game."

"Cory (Paus) made some nice plays, and he made some inexperienced plays. He's got to learn from those things. He's a competitive guy, and I think he grew a lot in this game. He made a couple of plays that kept us on top."

(On DeShaun Foster) "It was a real courageous effort. He's got a broken hand, and he made a great effort. Unfortunately, he fumbled the last play. He said he just dropped it."

"Freddie Mitchell - you're talking about a guy who competes. I told him the big-time players would prevail. He prevailed. He got that catch. He just wanted it more than the others."

"When you've got to put the nail in the coffin, you've got to go with the people who make plays. Those two (Cory Paus and Freddie Mitchell) are those guys."

Stanford head coach Tyrone Willingham:

"UCLA made a few more plays than we did. I'm extremely proud of our effort, but we didn't make enough of the plays we needed to win the game."

(On the quarterback switch) "We felt that it was better to take (Randy) Fasani out and put Chris (Lewis) in. Chris did some nice things. He brought our team back and gave us a shot to win at the end. The more he plays, the better he'll get."

"Luke Powell did what we expected of him. We need more big plays from more guys on the squad."

(On post-season hopes) "There are still some things that we have set to accomplish. A bowl game is not in our future, but there are other things we've set our sights on that we can do before the season ends."
