Stanford Men's Basketball Team Wins 107-74 Over Global Sports

STANFORD, Calif. -- Seven-foot sophomore center Curtis Borchardt came off the bench to score 19 points and grab nine rebounds in 17 minutes of play to pace the nationally-ranked Stanford basketball team to a 107-74 victory over Global Sports in an exhibition game on Tuesday night at Maples Pavilion.

Borchardt's seven goals included two three-pointers. In all, the Cardinal tallied 16 three-pointers in 29 attempts.

Three other Stanford players scored in double figures, Michael McDonald with 14 points, Casey Jacobsen with 13 and Jason Collins with 12.

Stanford hit 56 percent from the floor, and outrebounded Global Sports, 37-29.

Stanford, ranked fifth in the latest Associated Press poll, opens the 2000-01 regular season on Sunday at 5 p.m. against San Francisco State at Maples Pavilion.
