Tucson, Ariz. -- Paced by freshman Kim Rowton, the sixth-ranked Stanford women's golf team concluded the Arizona Invitational in third place with a three round total 865 on the par-72, 6003-yard Randolph Park Golf Course. Stanford shot a final round 291, finishing eight strokes behind tournament champion Arizona.
Rowton shot even par for the second straight round, concluding the tournament in a tie for second place with a 212. The second place finish marks the best conclusion to a tournament for Rowton, who shot a career-low 68 in the first round, this season.
Junior All-American Stephanie Keever earned her third top 10 finish of the season by concluding the Arizona Invitational in a tie for ninth place. Keever shot an opening round 72, before shooting back-to-back 71 to finish with a 214. Improving her score for the third straight round, junior All-American Hilary Homeyer shot even par 72, after a first round 75 and a second round 73, to finish in a tie for 23rd place at 220.
Senior JaeJean Ro concluded the tournament at 221 after a final round 76 and junior Salimah Mussani fell into a tie for 66th place with a 231.
Stanford has finished third in three tournaments this season, but the Arizona Invitational marks the lowest team score for the Cardinal this season. Stanford led the tournament after the first round (284) and were tied for second place with Arizona State (574) after round two.
