Sunriver, Ore. -- The fifth-ranked Stanford women's golf team concluded the second round of play at the NCAA Women's Golf Championships in a tie for fourth place with a 599 at the Crosswater Club in Sunriver, Ore. The Cardinal shaved three strokes off its first day total with a second round 298.
Senior JaeJean Ro and junior Hilary Homeyer lead all Cardinal golfers tied for 19th place with a 149. Ro cut three strokes off her opening round score, while Homeyer added three to her first round 73.
Freshman Kim Rowton will begin tomorrow's third round with a 150 and in a tie for 26th place. Rowton has shot rounds of 76 and 74 in her first NCAA championship appearance. Junior Stephanie Keever is tied for 38th place after two rounds, while junior Salimah Mussani made the biggest improvement in the second round, shooting a 78 after an opening round 90.
Arizona leads the tournament with an eight over 584 (299-285), while the Wildcats' Julia Kruschinski is leading the race for the individual title with a 140 after shooting a 67 on day two.
