Walnut, Ca - Kathleen Donoghue, a sophomore from San Diego, broke the school record in the pole vault, and Chad Wassink established a new school mark in the javelin to highlight Stanford's activities on Sunday at the Mt. Sac Relays.

Donoghue vaulted 13-1 3/4 (4.01m) to finish second in the competition. Donoghue and teammate Melissa Feinstein had shared the old school mark of 13-0 1/4. Donoghue's record effort also qualified her provisionally for the NCAA Championships later this year in Eugene.

Wassink threw the javelin 234-0 (71.32m) to break the 13-year old school record of Dave Pickett (233-11 (71.30). Wassink's throw was an NCAA provisional mark. Wassink bested his career-high by nearly 14 feet.

Three other Stanford athletes also qualified provisionally for the Nationals, Ashley Couper in the 1,500 meters (4:23.05), Donald Sage in the 1,500 meters (3:43.93), and Seth Hejny in the 1,500 meters (3:44.79).

Maurica Carlucci ran the sixth fastest 800 meter time in school history with a second place finish at the Mt. Sac Relays. Carlucci was timed in 2:08.09. That time qualified her for the Pac-10 Championships along with Lindsay Hyatt who finished second in her section of the 800 meters at 2:08.32.

Other Pac-10 qualifiers on Sunday included freshman Jillian Camarena in the discus with a throw (154-0, 46.94m), Michael Harte in the 110 meter hurdles (14.73), and Wilsa Charles in the 100 meters (12.03).
