Corvallis, Oregon - The fifth-ranked Stanford women's golf team shot the low round of the day, 292, to remain in second place with a two-day total of 594 at the 2001 NCAA West Regional in Corvallis, Oregon. Arizona leads the field by 15 strokes with a 579. Rounding out the top five are Arizona State (602), Michigan State (602), UCLA (604) and Ohio State (604).
Stanford is eight strokes ahead of the third place teams heading into the final round. The Cardinal have four golfers in the top 20 as well.
Individually, sophomore Kim Rowton continues to look strong, firing a two-under par 70 today and is currently tied for sixth with a 144. Stephanie Keever carded a par 72 on the afternoon and is 14th with a 148. Senior Hilary Homeyer and freshman Angela Rho check in tied for 20th with a 15 while Kim Kouwabunpat is tied for 40th with a 155.
Arizona's Natalie Gulbis still leads the field with an eight-under par 136 after two days of competition. Arizona State's Jimin Kang fired a six-under par 66 today to move into second, just one stroke behind the leader.
Action concludes tomorrow at the Trysting Tree Golf Club.
