The Stanford Cardinal had their second best finish ever at IRA National Championship on the Cooper River in Cherry Hill, NJ. The unranked Cardinal's 12th place finish in the Men's Varsity Eight was very impressive as the they beat many teams ranked higher than them such as No. 13 Temple, No. 15 Syracuse, No. 16 Boston Univ, No. 17 Georgetown, No. 18 Columbia, No. 19 Navy and No. 20 Michigan. Stanford's best finish was in 1999 when they finished 11th.
In the Men's Open Four w/Cox, Stanford placed 5th with a time of 6:55.70, close to 6 seconds of the lead.
