Cross Country Men And Ryan Hall Win Murray Keatinge Invitational

Orono, Maine - Stanford freshman Ryan Hall won his collegiate cross country debut and Stanford captured the 2001 Murray Keatinge Invitational on Saturday at the University of Maine. The second-ranked Cardinal placed four of the top five runners in the 8000 meter event and finished with 25 points. Hall recorded a time of 24.00.4 to edge teammate and Maine native Louis Luchini (24:03.1).

Joe Urbanski (4th, 24:12.7) and Daniel Parris (5th, 24:14.6) were also top five finishers for Stanford, while Sean Knapp (13th, 24:58.2) closed out the Cardinal scoring. Seton McAndrews (15th, 25:00.7), Gabe Jennings (16th, 25:01.7), Philip West (28th, 25:34.6), Donald Sage (60th, 26:59.4) and Steve Loughlin (67th, 27:20.0) also competed for the Cardinal.

The Stanford men's and women's teams will next compete at the Furman Invitational/Pre-NCAA Meet (Greenville, SC) on Saturday, October 13.
