Ranch Cordove, Calif. - The Stanford Women's Crew team competed at the Head of the American regatta today in Rancho Cordova, CA. The Cardinal faced California for the first time this season as Stanford and Cal swept the first six spots with the Bears finishing just four seconds ahead of the Cardinal. Head Coach Aimee Baker says, "This was a great team effort by the squad. The depth of our program has improved dramatically in just one year. California has been one of the top teams in the country and it feels good to challenge them down the course." The Women's Varsity team is off until November 9 when they compete in Seattle at the Head of the Lake. The Novice women compete next weekend at the Newport Autumn Rowing Festival in Newport Beach, CA.
